Main Street Grill in Soutdold

Typically food here is pretty good for what it is. Basically a breakfast and lunch place.I went there one Sunday and ordered a simple eggs/bacon/toast breakfast and thought I'd treat myself to what they had listed on the menu as "fresh squeezed orange juice". That to me that means only one thing - orange juice that has been freshly squeezed and came from an orange. Not a container. But what do I know?When I tasted the orange juice it was pretty clear it was not fresh squeezed. So I asked the waitress if it was fresh squeezed or from a container. Her answer was "both". So I asked her "how's that"? She replied that it was fresh-squeezed in Florida then put into a container. So basically it was (hopefully!) Tropicana or some other Brand X container orange juice. You just can't make this stuff up! This should have definitely been a Fawlty Towers skit. I'm still laughing about it and they didn't even charge me for the entertainment 😁

Very good breakfast but closes early i think juat after lunch

Delicious .... went for dinner when there was a pop up dinner event and everything was just perfect ... just a bit of a wait but well worth it.

Our go to breakfast place. We also caught their pop up dinner . Salads, steak and chicken dishes were delicious. Awesome staff also!

Perfectly poached eggs ( a rarity, I find), delicious real corned beef hash (try it here if all you've ever had was that stuff from a can), out waitress came by to top off coffee as if on cue, the price and service were both very friendly. In addition to the regular breakfast items, Jeni's offers truly special specials: I've never heard of breakfast risotto (cooked w/ veggies, cheese & other good things) but will have to give it a try next time I go.

last night was our first time we visited this good restaurant. But It is definitely not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the attentive service, with the high quality meal and booze and with the friendly cost. We will no doubt return there in a short time.

Always an excellent meal! Good home cooked food with fresh ingredients and awesome staff. We love it there and have been going for breakfast and the occasional lunch for years.

We gave this another opportunity. The staff member working was completely by himself. He was gracious and competent but completely over. Tables were initially full but many people left in the half hour we were left waiting for drinks. The owner arrived to lend a hand and we fared no better. It was a two hour less than mediocre meal at best. Items were forgotten and not offered. We wish them success but we will not be returning. Not the first time we were disappointed.

One of my main places to grab some food. convenient location, always clean, and awesome service. 5 stars!

Great service and good food

Wonderful, friendly and attentive service. The restaurant must have been renovated since many of the photos posted on Google were taken. It now looks very upscale! However the menu still has breakfast and lunch classics. Food arrived hot and delicious. Prices were very reasonable. Our server Julia was so nice, and deserves a special mention! Highly recommended for a delicious breakfast or lunch in warm, friendly surroundings.

Dropped in for a Sunday lunch, needing a handicap-accessible facility.Service was pleasant and efficient. I had the best Reuben I have ever eaten and my husband , who ordered a very rare hamburger, received exactly that. It appears that restaurants don't want to give a customer rare meat any more and we've been disappointed on many occasions.This place is a find and, although we don't get out to Southold very often, this will be the place to eat when we do.

Come here for a hearty breakfast or brunch. Service is friendly and quick, food is tasty and fairly priced. For these reasons I come back frequently with the family.

We came to this restaurant for a meeting. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was a winning. the staff were so friendly and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will visit this place again. Warmly recommended.

I often have clients meet with me on the weekends to look at vacation homes throughout the North Fork. My customers love to stop into Main Street Grill for a cup of coffee and baked goods when the arrive in the morning after their trip out from NYC or Nassau County. The service is small town perfect and the baked items are always a hit. They serve a mean breakfast at the Main Street Grill.

We love it at this down-home place. The food is good; people are nice.

Interesting home cooked food.

We walked in and it looked to be a small town typical breakfast/lunch diner. We looked over the menu and found it was lacking. I got the Picnic Chicken Salad Sandwich and my companion got the chicken fingers. We asked the waitress, one of three that came over and took varying parts of our order, what came with the items and she said pickle slices and macaroni salad, but it was very filling. We got the items and saw more plate than food. The chicken fingers were four meager pieces of chicken with basic seasoning and nothing truly not worthy of them. The sandwich looked like an egg salad sandwich and I honestly at first was gonna send it back, it was goodish, nothing exceptional. We also asked for a side of mayo that arrived rotten. The waitresses were distant, no one said their name, we honestly weren’t sure who was our server. Price was a bit high but nothing too extreme for the North Fork.

Jenis is one of my favorite spots on the North Fork. A hidden gem.
